Saving...
important in close fighting. No doubt you've seen by the papers about the "Ranger" School which is being conducted here. The 80th Division is responsible for its training and we have to furnish the doctors and medical personnel for it. There are men here going to school from all over the Second Army area. They really have quite a difficult course of instruction, too, from all I hear. "Sugar" Boal has been sick and they took her to the Station Hospital yesterday. She isn't serious but they didn't want to take any chances of her developing anything which they could avoid. Both the Colonel and Evie are quite worried. I saw Evie here at the office yesterday as they were taking Sugar to the hospital. She inquired as to your health, etc, and asked me to give you her kindest regards. The war seems to be rather static at present, quite a list of ships we lost in the Solomons - but a pretty good trade for the large number of Jap ships we got. I had to teach a class yesterday afternoon in Army Regulations. I'm brushing up some on Military Law, also. Well, dearie, must close. Write and let me know how you are getting along as I'm quite anxious to know and worried. Give my love to Mother. Devotedly yours, Daddy.
