Saving...
Camp Forrest, Tennessee Thursday, Jan. 7, 1943 Dearest Dorothea: I know that you don't want me to date my letters back but I'll try to write enough to catch up and then I'm sure you won't mind. The old jaloopie came right along but it seemed like it took ages and ages to get anywhere. But after driving steadily all day, I got through St Louis and on to a tourist cabin - 66 miles from Paducah (not there yet) and stayed all night. It is a nice cabin and has a natural gas heater. It was very cold when I came in but the attendant turned on the heat and I went over to an all night cafe and service station to get a bite of supper and while I was gone, it has gotten fairly warm.
