Saving...
Last nite I had quite a surprise. The [illegible] came in with a gallon of homemade [illegible] cream + the [illegible] homemade yellow three layer cake. [illegible] had baked it. We all said it wasn't complete though without you + Donald. I surely wish you could have been there. I would have enjoyed it much more. I paid your [illegible] syndicate today + $15.28 coal bill. So you needn't worry about that. I put the add in for the typrewriter but don't know whether we have had any [nibbles?] or not. I dusted it all up. Saw Tom [Dyer?] this evening + he was asking all about you. This had been a beautiful day. It is just warm enough to be nice. I just love this kind of weather. Oh yes, I heard Mrs [Thayer?] received a Cablegram from him + he was in Australia. I arrived all O.K. with no [illegible]. [Daddy?] on that Montgomery Ward bill. Shall I go in + pay them, or just just wait until they send the statement? Whatever you say, so. Oh yes
