Saving...
We still have all the rooms rented and hope they will all stay at least until we get back.I still don't have an extra tire. I guess he couldn't get me one. I will just drive slow and think they will be O.K. I red'd the two [illegible] from A.L. yesterday. I will put them in the bank box. We are having very hot weather. I like it though, only I get so awfully tired, when I am so busy. I haven't heard anything from your mother. I expect she will be peeved at me because I didn't take her with me. You will have to help me explain. Well the British are still bombing the dickens out of Germany, aren't they? Maybe the war will soon end. I surely hope so. Honey, I am very sorry I didn't go to vote, but I just couldn't make it. [Illegible] lost out but [Illegible] and [illegible] got in. I hear Mrs Hodges came back to [illegible] and ran for county [illegible] again but didn't make it and Ruth Clark was working for the woman that was [substituting?] and so she fired her and she is out of a job. They don't know what happened that Mrs Hodges came home. Too bad. Well darling, I must close and eat breakfast and get ready to go to work. I have to be there by eight o'clock. Will be seeing you soon. Can hardly wait. Love and kisses Dorthea and kids
