Burlington [abbreviation? looks like Ja] May 25, 1942 Mon 12:30 PM My dearest: I am so sorry I didn't get a letter written to you last nite but I have been so tired lately [and] I had taken the kids to the park to wing + slide + after I gave them balls + got them to bed, I set down a minute to look at the paper + was going to write you + fell off to sleep + slept on the davenport until 11:30 + then got up + went to bed + thought would wake up early + write you before I came to work + just didn't make it. I am working awfully hard at the shop now + every minute of the day is taken. I am trying to get them all done before I leave. I rec'd four letters from you this morning + so happy to hear from you. Honey, it won't be long now until we will be together. I get such a thrill out of just thinking about it even. We will be together on our anniversary
