March 26, 1942 Dear Folks: I have two nice letters since the last one I wrote. They got here in 2 days with 3¢ on them which is as good as air mail does. I haven't written to Russell yet. I am sorry Bill Antes didn't get the Judgeship i rather that he would but that's politics. Got a letter from Grandma today she is worried it seems about me I must write her again. She sent me a bunch of cards with religious sayings on them she got them from one of her radio programs. She said young Berry from Ft. Dodge is down here from Sheppard Field. I may get a chance to see Chuck Roamer sometimes it's not so far to Ft. Sill. Got a card from Parker Mattox, Wadina who left W. U. with me he is at Camp Forrest Tenn. He is in infantry & says they walk & walk & it rains or snows every day. So I guess I'm lucky I won't go anywhere for four months & then if I get to be an inspector it wont be bad. I am room orderly for the barracks tomorrow that means I'll have to see ash containers are empty windows dusted etc. etc.
