Saving...
Sept. 7, 1942 Wendover, Utah Dear Dad & Mom I am very lazy tonight, havent even showered yet. We changed shifts today and we only had eight hours between so taking meals off this time I only slept about five hours which isnt enough for an old sleepy head like me. Got two letters from you tonight as well as one from the [Kohls?] and one from a friend from Sheppard Field who is up in Washington state now. I surely enjoyed them you mentioned Kenny Burnhams coming out in this country I really would like to see them. Enjoyed the cartoons and pictures they were good. Some night this week the "Camel Caravan" is going to stop by and entertain us. We are very fortunate in being right on the main route thru here otherwise I dont think we would have so many good entertainers as this is just a small camp. The only place they have is out in the [illegible] in the boxing ring. The theatre is much too small to accommodate the crowd. I think the townspeople of Wendover are getting a lot of entertainment which they never had before, they always come over to the movies & entertainments. This week my evenings are free so Im going to the movies, boxing & the Camel show. (that's cigarettes not a circus). Im glad that the silo house is being built hope Dinger does a good job on it. Who is going to be the carpenter? It seems to me that all the boys are in Defense plants someplace drawing big wages. I havent got it figured out just what kind of a shaped building it is going to be but whatever
