Sept. 26, 1942 Wendover, Utah Dear Dad + Mom: Your box of cookies came today boy were they good and did everyone enjoy them in fact they are gone already but all the guys were made happy by them especially myself. They all said it was plain to see why I am so [fat?] and the whole bunch said to thank you. Bakes from home are indeed a rarity now. sugar rationing has just about put an end to it. I looked for the scissors but didnt find them so expect they will be along later. We are all very [well/much?] [proud?] at the way our engine changes went it took us 2 days and six hours which is somewhat of a record at this field. This afternoon we preflighted them and all of them started right off and ran
