New Hartford 1865 Sat. March 18, Cut wood A.M. went up to Jaslins to see his colt to get a mate to my 2 year old. [?] he not at home saw him at Hartford agreed to take the colt at $26.00 and paid him & he was [Walter?] him. No lodge tonight Sun. 19th wrote letter to Laura Hannah and I went to C Ensigns, took letters, G. Ensign come home by Jasline to get my colt (?) the Beaver up to the buggy box Mon 20 The creek is quite high we cut the ice smaller to let it go under the bridge. cleaned out stables put Lady Dell & jimmy in the bay our of the west it rained Tues 21st It snowed 8 to 10 inches deep last night & melted almost off today Hannah & I went to converse this evening Taylor & (?) there
