New Heartford 1865 Sat. Apr. 15 Cleaned door yard News of A. Lincoln being shot come today. The Flag was immediately raised half mast. Sun. 16 Hannah & I went to Henry's spoke to E Foster about breaking plow Mon. 17 Commenced plowing. Garden (?) apple tree broke. Windy. Hannah and I went to Converses in evening Ada came home with us. Tues. Apr. 18 went to Waterton. O C Hayden rode to C. Falls bought wire. Took Wares parts to him. Came home on this side Oyers paid $5.00 on notes Julia Clark here Wed. 19 Eld. Tracy and Julia Clark here all night. I have the ear ache quite bad. the first time in over 8 years. It rained hard in evening.
