Lagrange Friday, July 8, 1864 Awake all on right night reserve called in line at 3 o clock A.M. Col [illegible] took [illegible] his [illegible] in the large yellow [illegible] picket [illegible] he being the commander [illegible] Camp. Willis relieved us with [illegible] men 9 o.clock AM. Patrol guards taken in. fired off [illegible] guns Saturday 9 In line to roll call at [illegible] Smith [illegible] 25 armed men beyond pickets Black [illegible] we passed on 3 miles & soon got all the [berries?] we could carry back. Gen [illegible] arrived here today. The three [illegible] of seminary in [illegible] Sunday 10 called out under arms [illegible] night & [illegible] till morning washed all my under clothes read news papers [illegible] two wounded. accidental [illegible]
