May the 20 1848 Mr McDill I take my Pen in hand to inform you of maters and things: all the Pepol are well in this Neighborhood at presant: I hant Got much to tell you but it will do you Good what it: I wonder that you have not Bin up before now I Should like to see you: I have a yarn to tell you as long As my arm but I cant tell you all in this Letter and will Give you a shor Histery: We have had lotes of talk in this Neighborhood and it all Proseded from Mr Willman Giting the Sack and he took a (spell?) of the Hydrofbia and he was very wrath for some-time-but is giting Beter and is most redy for a nother one: but I tell you the Circomstance there was a Singing aportent at John Willmanson and bill wanted me to go with him up you know whar and Sam and I had maid it up to [wechar?] him and so we Did: and bill wanted me to ast the Girles as I was working thare and So I did and they id to com on and I told bill they said well we will and we will cut Sam out: but in the mean while bill was to find me a horse as Humphry
