health been verry good so far this season the season has been verry wet throughout wheat is verry much injured with rust and is worth from 30 to 65 cts corn is first rate old is worth from 25 to 33 - early potatoes good - from 25 - 40 bacon 10--12 - beef retail 2-5 cts butter - 10 -12½ Eggs - 6 - watermellons in great abundance There is from 3 to 5 waggon loads pr day sold in chester the old doctor Mcdill bought Bailey's farm by Jos Brown and going to move to it this fall Glen moved to sparta bought Dunnings Drug and doin well he is engaged as teacher in the high school or coledge in Sparta him and the Doctor are teachers to commence first October John and Newton Pettit have swapped farms John has swapped his place which he got from Newton for a house and lot in Chester he is going to California this fall to take James wife and children. Doctor mashall lost his wife of cholera Squire Robing Died of conjestive chill - Brown Tailor Died consumption I want you to write to me very soon I shall promise amendment as for myself in being a litle punctual in the above respect i have been setting posts and lifting to day my hand is verry heavy y such a chit chat too at hand ant Maria Mrs Coleman mother I close for the present and remain yours H.
