Saving...
It has been rather dull today. After doing my work this forenoon I have been shaving bathing and so on until the day is gone. I don't expect that I will get a promotion here as some of the best men have been lieutenants since the war started. They are awful squeezy with the commissions over here. A crowd left for the front today- I wish I was with them but if war stops it would be very dull up there and not very comfortable living. I haven't met any of the other fellows that I know but have found a fine lot of others. I think these men are about the best one could find. There were a lot of nurses in quartering near our unit and they were a very sad lot. Well I am so cold I guess I will have to stop and go to bed. Wish I had you here for a bed warmer. I wish I could make you groan with my cold feet. Hope you and Helen are all right Regards to her. Yours always with love Walter
