Sept. 11th 1918. My dear mother and father - Yesterday and today are land marks as I have had my first letters from you but they don't tell half enough. I hope you won't forget to tell me what you are doing with [June's colt and I also want to know if my suit case and package by mail from New York reached you safely. I've been rather uneasy about the package as it was so valuable. In this letter I am sending a money order for $35. Please save $10 or $15 of it for my insurance and I'll let you know later where to send it. Use the rest as you see fit around the farm. I have
