Oct. 4, 1942 Pueblo Cola. Dear Dad & Mom: I am just getting up, its around 9:30 & I have shaved & showered. This present schedule gives me no time whatever to myself. I'll bet you wonder, I talk so much about changing schedules but thats the way it is. I go to work at 12 noon & get off at midnight, eat a lunch (sometimes) and get in bed around 1AM sleep until 9 or 10 AM & get up to eat so I can make it to work by 12. Tomorrow we work the other half of the twenty four for a week. The fellows who fly say this is beautiful country to fly over. They fly over & around Pikes Peak and other scenic spots but I havent seen anything as yet. From camp you can see the mountains, a few trees and the tower. My directions are mixed up here the sun comes up in the north and wakes me up every morning. The field sits square with the world so maybe Ill get straightened around soon. They say this is a nice town for soldiers we are the first bunch here and the people havent gotten tired of seeing us around yet. I should be able to get a pass this week sometimes and will go down and see for myself. The closest army camps are about 60 miles from here so there aren't many soldiers. There is a penitentary close to this place, we can see
