Saving...
Say Mom if you do make me some cookies make some of those raisin filled ones. I like those kind with the coconut in them. I know those filled ones are lots of work but gosh they're good. Don't ever skimp on sugar yourselves to make them tho, you know we dont have any sugar rationing in the army and while army baking doesn't taste like home we get plenty Im sure. Gee they lost lots of stuff out of that birthday box. It was cut down and repacked I guess it wasnt more than five inches high when I got it. Im afraid I dont go to church often any more I made it three times at Wendover but havent gone here yet. We work seven days a week you see and unless the shifts come just right I am either working or sleeping there is just one Sunday in four I can go but I'll try and go then. Got a letter from you & one from Fred [brechner?] today. Fred said that Harlan Mueller whom we went school with at U.S.U had hit a steam liner with a truck he was driving for his father going to Chicago and was in a hospital in serious condition. He has signed up for naval Reserve and was waiting to be called and was just helping out at home. [Ardath?] is getting along fine and gets outside some for driving etc. Hope I see a newsreel showing Pete Peterson and F.D.Q. that was swell to get all
