Saving...
Nov. 24, 1942 Pueblo, Colorado Dear Dad & Mom: Yesterday I got a letter from one of your sisters (P.E.O.) inviting me to Thanksgiving dinner or asking me to call her and make arrangements. We are all restricted because of the moving but Im going over and see the lieutenant and try and get a pass. I should like very much to go I havent eaten in a house very much this past few months. The weather has settled again and is clear and sunny but not too warm. Hope you are having as good at home, the ground is frozen here yet but the snow has gone off. How is the corn picking around home? nearly done Had a letter from Grandma yesterday and one from you. She seemed glad to get back home again but thought she had to clean her whole house. Hope she doesnt overdo. Got our other new engine on and it ran up okay. Our crew hooked it up and there were only three small things the inspector could find wrong with it so of course we were pretty well pleased. Change shifts today next week we work daytimes which I like much better
