Saving...
wont be so hot. Our dinner which we had about 3 PM wasnt bad. ham, potatoes, corn, salad bread butter peaches & coffee. I wish they wouldnt serve sloppy things on the train but we usually get stew or soup. if you are lucky enough to be near the mess car it isnt bad but where you cary your plate & cup three eight or ten carts its a messy procedure. The train stops before crossing every bridge or [incline?] of any size so that slows us up too. When I get where we're going Ill surely need my clothes cleaned as it is a dirty ride. I got a new book yesterday, a familiarization manual on the B-24 which the fellows used when they went to school out in California. I was very glad to get it as it is the material I would have gotten had I been sent there when I left Sheppard Field. We are stopped on a small siding beside a little train and there are a bunch of kids & people gathered along the train. Well I dont know when I can mail this but will do so when possible. Ill send you a telegram when I get to my destination Love Johnny
