Saving...
Dec. 2, 1942 Tuscson Ariz. Dear Dad & Mom: I dont know whether Ill be able to finish this or not as they are busy looking for details to unload our stuff. Just arrived here this morning after a 72 hour train ride from Pueblo, a good average almost 10 miles an hour. We came south out of Pueblo down thru Trinidad - Darn detail. Three hours later - south west down thru Albuquerque - west thru Flagstaff and as far as Ashagate thru south again to Prescott, Phoenix then back east to Tucson. Part of the trip was very pretty but mostly monotonous and dull. ate out of the mess car and the food wasnt too good tho not too bad. It is very warm here daytimes anyhow, I dont know how the evenings will be. The barracks are tarpaper shacks like Wendover and we eat out of mess kits again but will make out okay. Our beds are just 2x4's with 6" boards laid across them with a mattress on top of that I dont think I'll find it so tough tho as Ive got lots of my own padding. We are not in the same place we were before quite it's about four miles from the other field and its called Rattlesnake Gulch however the name doesnt mean anything.
