Saving...
hours straight, to help get a hurry up job out of the way. Things like that throroughly disgust me with Army methods of discipline. Enough of this I'll try and be a bit more pleasant. Got a nice letter from the Dibbles today, his brother passed away in Washington but he wasn't feeling so well & couldnt get out to the services. Said they'd had a letter from you thanking him for the celery. He was planning to go to his brothers for Christmas, and Mrs Dibble was going to her family gathering. Went into the P.X. this afternoon and ran on to the fellow who was my drill instructor down at Shep. Field He was a good fellow and I was glad to see him. I remember I thought he was a veteran but now I find he's been in but a short while longer than I have he is still a [illegible] private as he was when he was giving me recruit drill. It seems funny how you recognize a fellow whom you knew so short a time I was only in the replacement center
