Saving...
had three engine changes since so Ive been on the go ever since. You can just get in your sleep, [illegible] up, eat and go back to work. Im going to take a twenty four hour pass tomorrow and write [illegible] and wash some clothes etc. I am enclosing a money order. I got up shortly after noon so I could go over to the main base and get it. I want you folks to take the twenty five dollars and put it toward a radio and something you would like. Now please do this. I will be hurt if you don't I am very sorry and ashamed I couldn't find something and send you it doesnt seem like a Christmas gift this way. A fellow doesnt have any facilities for wrapping and you stand in line for hours to mail anything out. Yesterday one of the boys said the line was almost twice around the outside of the Post Office. [illegible] [illegible] I could do something more it seems a pitiful little sum after the grand Christmas I had. The rest of it pay for what you [need?] for the nephews + Hays and hang on to the balance for a furlough perhaps in February. This is short but its all the time I have Got your long letter today + the notice of the box of cookies. Love Johnny
