Saving...
it would man a lot for him to be with Dickey. The weather here is a good bit more pleasant to do work outside than it was at Pueblo, daytimes it's fine but so darn cold at nights (I guess Ive told you about this 100 times). Planes have been flying well lately the one we recently changed engines in is doing a good job. I am a junior crew chief on this one have my own crew. I debated a long time about telling you this I dont like the responsibility but I guess somebody has to do it. They break you in rank if some little thing goes wrong and you are the guy that gets dumped on for any trouble that arises. I have seven men besides myself most of them know more than I do about the plane. I have had the job since I got back from Sioux City and so far have gotten along okay. For gosh sakes dont tell anyone as I might lose my job anytime and then you would have to explain why. Ill bragg a little tho on the last engine change three crews worked and I had my engines out in two hours and the first of the three. Our engineering officer thinks our crew is one of the best and gets a quite a lot accomplished It is quite a thrill to start and preflight these big ships before they take off and its up to you to say whether they are fit to fly. I have to quit for tonight but will write tomorrow as I have a little more time now. Did my [back?] laundry today. Love Johnny.
