Christmas Day Tucson, Arizona Dear Dad & Mom: Ive just returned from dinner and it was a fine one, not as elaborate as Thanksgiving but we had Turkey, cranberries mashed potatoes, yams, salad, peas, tomatoes, bread & butter, ice cream & cake. Everything tasted pretty good. I didnt get up very early this morning as I didnt have to work, lucky for once that I didnt get on an alert crew. Planned to go to Church this morning but by the time I shaved showered, & shampooed it was to late so I am going to the evening services. We've had some nice Christmas programs on the radio today which I've enjoyed expect you may have heard some of the same ones. Got five boxes yesterday soap from the Wengers, soap from Mrs Lynch, stationary (very nice) from Aunt Jennie, cookies from Austin & Elsie, shaving stuff from the Hays. Also have a notice to call for a package from West Union but they couldnt find it over at the Post office darn it I think it is your cookies. So you can see I have had a fine Christmas and while I'd rather be home in the cold Iowa winter It has been an enjoyable one, so many folks remembered me I got fifty two cards a good many more than I sent but perhaps they will forgive me. It rained this morning quite hard but the sun came out about noon and was real pleasant for a couple of hours but now it has clouded up again and the wind is blowing. When I get this written I am going to play [pinnachle?], my cronies are back from
