Saving...
Saw a fellow today that I went to school with at Shep. Field he was such a dumb cluck I didnt think he ever would graduate. He [washed?] back in at least half the phases and had to take them over again, but he finally got out, then went to San Diego got thru there and now he is down here. Looked up all of us and seemed glad to see us. I guess it shows it doesnt take many brains to finish A.M. school should keep any of us from getting the big head. One of our ships has to have the nose wheel replaced in it, the pilot sat it down a little too hard and sprung it out of shape. It is no wonder they bend once in a while the beating they take. I noticed when I left the line at five thirty the new one was installed and all it needed was to put the tire on so it will be flying soon. I am listening to the Lucky Strike hit parade I like it very much, right now they are playing Mr 5 + 5 which is near the top of favorites. I like it myself and after get ribbed about being that character. Had a letter & card from Uncle Ralph today he told me of having the sale. It brought almost $10,000 and he still has 145 head of hogs and his grain. The machinery brought more than he paid for it, Im afraid the guys that bought it had better be checking it over and getting new parts ordered for Im afraid Ralphie isnt easy on his equipment. The boys are after me to play pinnachle and Im run down for tonight. Love Johnny
