Saving...
Dec. 29, 1942 Tuscon, Ariz. Dear Dad + Mom: Another rather uneventful day, not too busy but had quite a few [putter?] jobs. Put a new latch on the [camera?] door in the bottom of the plane, a new bracket to hold a fire extinguisher painted all the emergency exit door handles a bright red, fixed two arm rests which were broken off the pilots seat, this was a hateful little job there is a tricky little spring which makes adjust-ment possible which gave me no end of trouble to replace. Some intellectual [illegible] had to see if the paint was really red + every handle is [illegible]/ Charly [Raippel?] came over for a short visit today while I was working, [illegible] [illegible] been quite busy and find little time to get to-gether but we had quite a chat, trading what news we had from home and the usual [lines?]. Got a card from Grandma today, she sounded so blue I must write as quick as I can. Also one from Ensign + Mrs. B.D. Finch but no address so I cant write please get it from Mrs. A.D. and send it to me as I really must write I never have since the ceremony. There is a large crowd in the day room tonight I guess everyone has lots of thank you letter to write. I couldnt find a decent chair but am sitting on the arm of another fellows and trying to get this written legibly.
