Saving...
April 1, 1943 Tucson, Arizona Dear Dad & Mom: Expected to be gone from here by now but plans are often changed in the army so Im not surprised. Havent heard from you for three days but may get a letter tomorrow. I had a lovely package in the mail today from [Sigira?] Johnson, a two pound coffee can full of fudge and divinity and a pound package of date & coconut candy made in California I was certainly surprised and pleasantly Ill write her right away and thank her. it is surely hot again today. it must be nearly 100 (degrees) yesterday it registered 118 (degrees) in the sun. A fellow doesnt have to do much to sweat but it drys as fast as it comes out. We are trying to fly planes again today but are handicapped
