Saving...
April 11, 1943 Pocatello, Idaho Dear Dad & Mom: Ill try and write a few lines this afternoon as we must pull an inspection tonight. I always hate a night inspection but here we have the hangar and lights so it wont be too bad. The sheet metal department is right in the hangar and the tool issue so we wont have far to run. Our plane will come out of commission at 6 P.M. and we should have it done by midnight or shortly thereafter. It is only a fifty hour inspection and no spark plugs to change. It stays cold here but this afternoon the sun is shinning and it has warmed up quite a bit. The mountains here are surely pretty they are all snow covered and with the sun hitting them it is a good view. There is a lake close by here that is twelve miles wide and thirty five miles long so dont think me crazy if I should send home for fishing tackle. I believe it will be warm tomorrow. Most of the fellows are catching forty winks because they are working tonight, think Ill nap a bit myself pretty soon. Boy how you can sleep up here use both blankets and throw the window wide open and never turn over till morning. Wrote Milan a long letter last night when I got back from the basket ball game. I hope he isnt too homesick. Our team won the game last night by a fair margin 32-26. I believe it
