April 12, 1943 Pocatello, Idaho Dear Dad & Mom: Today I slept the whole blessed day thru came in from work about eight A.M and took a hot shower and turned in. It was just pleasantly cool and I didnt wake up until noon when all the guys came in to dinner. I went back to sleep and didnt wake up till five P.M. and I feel fine tonight thought i was going to work tonight but I guess I wont after all so Ill write a few letters. Our inspection and engine change we had last night and today was rated very satisfactory by the group inspector and the engine change didnt have a change to be made on it. So the new crew chief and new assistant were both pleased. Got a letter from S.S. Dribble this afternoon along with two from you, one written the 3rd & the other the 10th., the one came up from Tucson. Mr. Dibble is in Boise and will drive right by the Pocatello Air Base so will see me within a week or so. He has a good bit of business up in this country. It's funny, he said last week he was driving by this base and the thought came to him. I wonder if Johnny Graham could be there he said something just seemed to tell him I was
