Saving...
April 27, 1943 Pocatello, Idaho Dear Dad & Mom: Got your letter today that was mailed the 24th, think it was here yesterday but the mail man kind of messes things up. Dont know why your birthday present hasnt arrived yet, doesnt amount to much but I couldnt find anything. Has been rather cold all day but tonight it seems to have warmed up Sun is setting red so it should be a good day tomorrow. [The?] plane gave quite a bit of trouble today, radio went dead a couple of times, replaced a landing light, put on a new [meshing sulinoid?], a new flight indicator and gyro compass. Nothing that was very hard but kept the ship on the ground. also the warning horn that blows if the landing gear isnt locked down kept blowing was a short in that. I too have a cold has just been a head cold but tonight my throat is sore. Took a shower last night and the water was a little cold which didnt help any. Have some underwear and sox soaking in Rinso which I must wash out a little later that water is soft and things suds up nicely and wash out easily. Dont mind doing anything but
