Saving...
Friday February 1st, 1860 There seems to be a difference between some days in the school room, for I find that I requires more effort to keep the scholars quiet some days, and this has been one of those, I labored very hard and feel very tired. I heard some of the people wish me to teach a few weeks longer than my time but I will not do it. I am looking forward with anxiety to the close of my school. Only 3 weeks more. Sat. 2 Mr. Ady gave me a job posting his assessor's books which I did, and wrote nearly all day. The weather is exceedingly fine. I was busily engaged nearly all day. Feel tired. Sun. 3 Went to church this morning, heard Mr. Pentser preach a political historical sermon. Staid nearly all afternoon at Leonard's . Spoke to Mr. Knowles about having him and his instrument at my exhibition, he partly consented. Mon. 4 Had a pretty full school, and a very interesting one. Mr. F. Camehl visited the school in the afternoon. We rehearsed our dialogues. I have a bad cold and have to labor diligently in my school early and late since the scholars are advancing, and therefore they require more time and attention.
