wednes 13. The atmosphere in the school room is very (?), and I always feel glad at night when I can go out and inhale natures fine breath; I think that teaching makes any man short lived and I intend to quit it as soon as practicable. thurs,14. this is a very disagreeable morning and I wish that there will not be but two or three scholars present. so I can do some writing, I have a very sore toe. it pains me sometimes so badly that I feel almost for fear I shall have to have it taken off. I forgot to say it is my big toe, i lose them yearly. the above was written by miss Emily Ady, and she desires to say "big toe nail" instead of "big toe", making a slight grammatical change. frid,15. the weather has been so very unfavorable that i am almost afraid we can not have sufficient practice doe our exhibition, on this evening we expect to have our rehearsal but had to defer it for the above mentioned reason. satur,16. i went to town with (?) seherf?) and the miss adys. i had considerable business to attend to, and spent nearly all my money. i saw and learnedmany new things. i met a member of my old friends and aquantences,i had our motto (?) congress all things (?)
