Saving...
Fri. 4. A heavy storm passed over this city this morning accompanied with hail and rain doing some damage, to a few homes. It did not last long, however. I took Mr. Hayes horse and started for Ady's about 10 o'clock A.M. The roads were exceedingly muddy but by good horsemanship I managed to get there safely, about the middle of the P.M. The folks were glad to see me, they feared that I was no more among the living on earth. They are all well. Spent a pleasant day. Sat. 5. This day commenced very cold and stormy, but became more pleasant in the latter part. I was engaged in posting my diary, which had been entirely neglected for several weeks. Sun. 6. I scarcely went out of the house, on account of the bad weather. Joshua Leonard and his wife paid us a visit. Also Mr. & Mrs. Pace, with Miss Hannah Pierson, with had a genial social chat. The weather in P.M. good. M. 7 My intention was to start to town early this morning, but my plan was entirely overturned , by the state of poor weather, which is at present prevailing here. This is another instance which proves that we cannot do at all time as we desire to do; at least my experience is that. I am frequently checked in my intended operations.
