Saving...
Sat. 14 We spent a pleasant half day in the institute, especially in our reading experience. Our [script] gave us some good hints, adopted resolutions, and attended to miscellaneous business, sang the [doxology] and were dismissed by Rev Chamberlain with a benediction. There was considerable shaking of hands and goodbye was frequently spoken. Had dinner at Dr. Goodno's, I saw the [Hilton] teachers off. Then arranged things at the school house in order to commence to commence my my accustomed routine of study again, which for some time has been neglected. Every teacher to the best of my knowledge is well pleased with our institute, and would gladly have staid a week longer. It is a decided success, it turned out better than I anticipated. I bathed in the "father of water's", the first time for over a year, it was excellent to embrace him again. Sun. 15 I did not go to breakfast, because I overslept myself. Attended S.S. also heard Mr. Adams preach at the Baptist church. Saw Miss Barrows with Capt. Fisher. Mr. Adams visited me in the evening, went to the printing office with him to have a notice of his lecture for tomorrow printed. Wrote several letters today. Dr. Goodno visited me. Mon. 16 Nothing of importance today. Took Miss Carrie A. Barrows to Mr. Adams lecture which was good, and well attended. I spent a very pleasant evening in the society of Carrie. I must mingle more in female society.
