Saving...
Tues 17 Received a letter from Sheboygan stating that [Trisonette] is still alive, wrote home to father. It rained a little today. I sleep to much, which retards my progress in my studies, I must [accustom] myself to do with less sleep. I received a beautiful bouquet this evening. [Mr/s.] Brown and Prof. Knaver visited me. [Thursatine] is quite a gay place, scarcely an evening passes without some public amusement. Wed. 18 Attended the Baptist festival at Fremont Hall, with Miss Carrie Barrows, had a very pleasant time. The hall was tastefully arranged and the festival was well attended. Weather pleasant. Thurs 19 Nothing of special interest today. I have not studied very much recently, I must strive to do better than I have done else my time will not be spent to the best advantage. Fri. 20 Visited Miss C.A. Barrows picnic, where the young folk had an admirable time. I made them a short address. Such a time as the pupils of Miss Barrows school had today will be long remembered by them. Sat 21 Last night I attended a festival for the benefit of the soldier's aid society, it was good. I made the acquaintance of several young ladies. Today I examined Misses Ella and Kate H. [Mason] for a teachers certificate, they did not [prove] a very good examination. Weather warm.
