Saving...
Fri. 6 Nothing of importance happened. I do not feel very well today. Owing to a cold I have. The weather here is very poor indeed. Sat. 7. I took to my bed today and am going to stay there until I get better. Sun. 8. I was all day in bed, until in the afternoon about 4 o’clock I received an order to imbark on board the “U.P.” to escort the steamer J. D. Perry to Norfolk, for fear some guerillas would take her. My lts being absent, I formed the company and took Command myself. We had a few incidents of interest, but saw no armed traitors. We returned about 8 P. M. Mon. 9. I feel considerably worse, owning to the exposure of yesterday the weather is getting better. No news of importance has transpired that I know of.
