Tonight Im writing in our day room. it is rather makeshift. one end of the amusement building. Only has two tables to write on but I came early and got a seat. There is a ping pong table, a radio and a dart game. It beats trying to write holding your paper on your knees at that. Ill bet some of the letters the fellows wrote today got ruined. They have a wooden box for mail on the side of the orderly room and it is right under the drip from the eaves. The way it rained today if the box had mail in it they are pulp by now and unreadable. The radio is blaring "Abbot + Costellos" program and I dislike them very much but I just dont listen and I get along pretty well.Our ping pong players are making quite a racket too. Right now Carmen Miranda is singing. I rather enjoy her. Red Skilton was here yesterday but I didnt get to hear him a lot of the guys went but I dont think he is so hot. Our squadron has to furnish K.P's now as three of the permanent K.P s are A.W.O.L. and one is in the hospital. They get extra pay and only work every
