May 8, 1943. Pocatello, Idaho. Dear Dad + Mom: Hit a jack-pot today had three letters and a newspaper today. Got yours, one from Mr. Dibble and one from Grandma with the lucky or unusual 25 [cent sign] piece, wouldn't tell her for the world but I cant see a thing different about it except the year 1915 looks like two bits to me. What is there different about the Pan American one you spoke of? Has been real nice here today warmed up a lot and tho the wind blew a good bit, it has died down entirely this evening. I'm I'm just a little afraid it may be quite breezy all the time kind of Dakota-ish but I still like the country around here the best of any camp I've been. Had a little accident this afternoon, we have a little auxillary power plant in the ship to generate electricity when the ship is on the ground and engines aren't running fast enough for the generators to work and today it went on the fritz so we took it out to work on it. Got it running again and I reached across the exhaust manifold to shut off a [petrock?] and touched the hot pipe with the heel of my hand. Didn't do much tho, have a blister about the size of a quarter, was close to a can of grease when it happened and I covered it over right away. Tonight it doesn't even hurt I believe grease [illegible] specification 3566 is as good as
