Saving...
Dear Dad & Mom, This has been a dark dismal day. rained intermittently and has been quite cold. We haven't flown since early this morning and all flying is suspended until six tomorrow morn. suits me fine when they are on the ground they are safe but of course it doesnt help train the crews. I have flown the shifts I have had this month quite a lot more than any of the other crew chiefs. Weather hasnt been too formidible tho so we didnt fly a great deal. I arranged about 10 hrs a day or rather my shifts did. Havent heard anything definite from my furlongh yet except I wont be in the bunch leaving the 2nd of June. according to a clerk in the engineering department mine comes up June 10 but I look for anything to happen. Boy did we have a good piece of roast beef this noon, we surely have a good meal cook and beef is a treat. Havent had chicken for months so I sure want some fried when I get home, that isn't rationed either is it. noticed by the Union [illegible] came today that we are to have our drivers license renewed.
