Saving...
June 22, 1943 Pocatello, Idaho Dear Dad + Mom: Will write a bit this morn while Im waiting for mail call. Just put some clothes to soak that I will wash out this evening. Went down and got in a couple of hours of calistanics this morning. Did a few exercises and then played soft ball. Weather is good again today but it turned cold last night and hasnt warmed up as yet. A jacket feels pretty good today. This is gas mask day again and they spread gas and smoke bombs around the field saw one [illegible] truck driver that was getting the worst of it. While the masks arent pleasant to use they really do a good job,. Got the letter yesterday that Mrs. Wagner had returned to her. Keep it for a souvenier I told our adjutant that I would like to take the body home but dont reckon he will let me. I expect that is the poor kid who came out to the car to see you at Sioux City that time. Ive had a lot of fun showing it to the other fellows and Ive been accused of being a ghost, a zombie and a scotchman
