127 it is safer to be attacked by some men than be protected by them, a false friend is a shadow on a dial; it appears in clear weather & vanishes as soon as that cloudy, evry action in company, aught to he with some sign of respect those present. marriage with love & peace is the worlds paradise, without it this life is a purgatory, if you escape the sensure of others hope not to escape your own, the true hero bears God & his own conscience more than mankind. To confer power upon the mischievious, or favors on the undeserving is a misapplication of our benevolence, the first step in sin, is the only difficult one
