Saving...
a fellow almost has to wear it tho because quite often they spray tear gas around and you get a good cry if you dont. Got two letters from you today and one from [Chrissie?] Greening which came up from Tucson, he is the fellow who sent you the letter to forward me a while back. Should have liked to have seen Tillie in her red bow and rolled sox expect she cut quite a dashing figure. Im glad Franny Sherren is getting along fine tell her hello for me. Is Spike [Senson?] to fly these B24's or didnt his mother say, say her strawberries have surely paid out havent they would like to have some with shortcake. Expect those Crawfords and Crandall were some pretty scared kids werent they probably more scared than hurt. Hope you had a fine celebration in town saw where the Firemans [Brawl?] paid out very well. Dont expect the crowd will be so terribly large tho with gas being rationed. Must stop for tonight. Love Johnny
