Saving...
July 26, 1943 Pacatello, Idaho Dear Dad, Mom + Grandma We are certainly making up for the cool weather weve had this summer. It has been at least 110˚ here today and about 100 for the past three or four days. Hear is stifling as the air is quite humid from the rain weve had recently. I'll get in training for Iowa weather. This field lost another airplane last night, not one from our squadron. Most everyone bailed out in parachute but I guess three were lost. It was a plane that I had a few months ago that had gone to the depot for overhaul, always was a good flying ship but rumor has it one of the gunners accidentally shot a hole in a gas tank. I feel about half sick tonight, this morning I was syphoning some gas from the tractor to fill the aircompressor and of course I swallowed a little. Whenever I belch I taste like a gas station smells, didnt swallow very much so tomorrow I'll be okay.
