Aug 29, 1945 Pocatello, Idaho Dear Dad, Mom and Grandma: Well the big fair is now over and the fairgrounds is the usual nasty dirty mess, papers, watermelon rinds ate scattered all aound. Tell Ole he will have to "[illegible] the area" around the yard the same way we do in the amy. Im gearing to go into town this afternoon and see a ball game, one of the tournament games. It will be the first time Ive been in during the day since we wound up here. Have been going in tho quite a lot evenings since I came back from my furlough. Last night we had an awful dust storm, our windows and doors were all wide open and when we got up this morning everyone was coughing and the dust was in drifts all over the floor. Blankets, sheets, pillowcases were just covered and our clothes were a mess. We had chicken for dinner this noon, first time since we've been up here. It was Ward Tuppers kind so was kind of disappointing it was good however.
