Saving...
have an [illegible] winter in Iowa. Did Bill take that hay down on the Denniston place or not. If he did I hope he sorts it carefully and gets the tistles out. Expect by now our silo is filled, and the one out on the Kohls place. Gosh I can't imagine Minnie Camp teaching school even the kids would be nervous wrecks and she might teach the same lessons over & over again. Wonder if she will be happy out at [illegible] City away from West Union folks. I know you'll have a nice party at Mrs. Humphreys, should get back a pound or two. Thought I might go to the show tonight but it doesnt sound very good "Swing Shift Maizie." Doesnt seem as tho the pictures are as good as they were a while back. Maybe all the good actors are in the army. Do you know if Ruby is in Elgin with her folks or not. I've owed her a letter a long time but dont know if she is at home or in Chicago. Love Johnny
