Got the papers today but as yet havent had time to read them. Also got a short note from Mark Roach he must have been passing thru here as the letter was mailed in Pocatello. Said he had been going to school in Caldwell Idaho and was on his way to California. Is he a navy cadet or what? You can tell his mother if you see her that I got his letter. Lots of the fellows are getting passes to pick [illegible] potatoes, think they get 10c for 100 lbs. some of them make rather good money at it. Also are working for the construction company and making 10 dollars a day. Must close and get a cup of coffee as its time for midnight chow. Ships will soon be in to. Love Johnny
