Oct. 15, 1943 Pocatello, Idaho Dear Dad, Mom & Grandma: Just read in the Argo about [illegible] Fergie cutting off his nose. That was a terrible accident, cut the clipping out of the paper to send to Mr. Dibble. Doesnt he have the dog gondest things happen to him, falling out of trees, off buildings, caving walls come in on him etc. Tough old geezer tho, hill survive it. It's been cold and windy today fellows didnt need any coaxing to keep up the fires in the barracks. Had some washing on the line and it was frozen solid this morning. Still frost on the roofs at about nine, thirty too. You spoke of a bomber crash in one of your recent letters, I didn't even know anything about it perhaps it belonged to one of the fields near here but it wasnt one of ours. We arent flying so much just now as most of our crews have completed their train-ing and have shipped out. Got your airmail letter today it made good time, came in exactly the same time as the regular mail. Cant see why it doesnt speed it up but doesnt seem to. Enjoyed all the clippings about [illegible] indian summer & the [beaners?] etc. I thought Kass had moved away from West Union, didnt I read in the
