ARMY AIR BASE POCATELLO, IDAHO Oct. 23, 1943 Pocatello, Idaho Dear Dad, Mom & Grandma: Just got some new stationary tonight so thought I must try it out. Guess the indian is because the camp is on one corner of the Blackfoot Indian Reservation For a wonder it has B-24's on it too instead of B-17's or some many P.B.Y. Will have to use my old up first so I dont have too many boxes, a fellow has to travel light in the army there isnt room to have a lot of junk around. Weather cleared this morning and its been quite a nice day but still cold. the snow on the hills has a phsycological affect I reckon but my sheep skin jacket felt good. We surely did have a miserable week of it tho. Went out on the gunnery range today we all have to know how to shoot revolvers rifles and sub-machine guns. You have to make a qualifying score or you get instruction on the weapon. Ive been out twice but the first
