The 27th Indiana and first Iowa cavalry is to come here and take our places When we get down there we may have a chance for a fight that is just what we come for but we have had no show for one since we came into service if we do get into a fight you will see what the 8th can do We have just as good field officers as in the service any where col Geddes fought in the last English war he was in forty seven battles and has a medal from the queen of England showing his bravery while in the service lieut col Ferguson is a good officer so far as for his bravery i know nothing about Major Andress i know nothing about he used to be capt of co F he makes a very good major
