I am on provost guard to day and harmon is on picket The boys is all well and doing well they are on their heads about going can hardly wait till the time comes We are going to be paid off at St Louis & i believe as we go down and then i will express it home or send it by some of the boys John Owens has gone home on a discharge he was sick nearly all the time he was here I understand we are to go to Paducah or 20 miles above Memphis to Randolph but their is no telling where we will go till we get there there is so many reports we don't know which is true I just now traded a pint of sugar for 18 eggs i had a glorious mess
